There's a special project in the works and I want to hint just a bit about it, because in a little while, I'll be posting a time-lapse video of me working on this project and that will explain more.
I've been painting in the park. While painting THE park. Or, at least the playground. This is Lion's Park in Golden, Colorado, and I've tried to make it recognizable to locals because this painting has a very special destination. It's going to belong to the Golden local who donates $423.00 to Mrs. Fish, a Golden Kindergarten teacher who hopes to use this money to buy each Kindergartner at her school a monthly book through Scholastic for the entire school year.
Prints will also be available and all the money (excepting what is needed for printing materials) will go to Welchester Elementary, a local Title 1 Elementary school). I love giving back to the local community and this little elementary school is a worthwhile recipient. The principal and teachers love their kids, and they are an amazing community of care-takers for these children. I like Mrs. Fish's wish to get each of her students a monthly book. I think we should encourage teachers who dream these kinds of dreams. If you're interested in purchasing this painting, buying a print, or supporting this school in some other way, contact me through my website. Because Golden likes to take care of its own.
